White Gold & Diamonds Wedding Rings
What the designer thinks
My friends, Xavier and Touria, approached me with a request for personalised wedding rings. Touria's eyes very quickly settled on a delicate, extremely feminine ring in my 3D catalogue.
As it was obvious that she had fallen in love with the design, I used that as a basis.
Using the ring as a template, I created a wedding ring for her made up of a square-edged band and two semicircular rings that would serve as a backdrop for a "random" diamond pattern. Touria supplied gemstones with dimensions that differed from those used in the ring that she originally liked. I took advantage of that, putting my creativity to work to give the entire piece a look that appeared disordered, yet harmonious, reflecting the natural environment where everything finds its niche in an apparently haphazard way.
For Xavier, whom I know well, a simpler, more minimalist design was necessary, and I knew that the originality of a ring made up from two distinct bands - a square-edged band and another, semicircular band that would capture the spirit of his wife's wedding ring - would appeal to him.
Put side by side, the two rings really look good together, just like the couple to whom they belong! The commission from Xavier and Touria was really touching for me, and I was honored to be able to associate myself with the happiness of their marriage. I think that I was successful in capturing their spirit through their white gold diamond wedding rings.
XAVIER & TOURIA
Xavier & Touria explain to us
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO COMMISSION NATHALIE TO CREATE YOUR WEDDING RINGS?
Xavier : « Because we already knew and liked Nathalie, asking her to create our wedding rings – which were so symbolic – was an obvious choice. It was in keeping with the entire wedding, being among friends, and I didn’t see anyone else about the rings because we had a five star service available to us! »
HOW DID YOU MAKE YOUR CHOICE AND WHAT DO YOUR WEDDING RINGS REPRESENT?
Touria: « It came to me in a flash as I was looking through the catalogue… I fell in love with a ring at first sight – I just wanted that one! We didn’t want traditional, run-of-the-mill wedding rings, but unique, personalised jewellery. »
Xavier: « What is interesting that we are both quite different people, but based on the design that Touria chose, I managed to find something very similar that I really liked, a ring that managed to combine a minimalist design with originality. At the end of the day, Nathalie managed to come up with two very different wedding rings that complemented each other, and suited us both perfectly. »
HOW DID NATHALIE, THE DESIGNER BEHIND CAMELEOR, SUPPORT YOU THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS?
Xavier et Touria: « Nathalie always listens very carefully and is very efficient. It was really a step-by-step process, and once she had agreed to create our wedding rings, there was some initial trial and error while we made our choices, then the first sketches, the rough versions of the rings, and so on. We were really able to follow all stages of the process from start to finish, which we really appreciated! »
